SURVEY : IMHA is now ready to start a review of the medical guidelines contained in Appendix E of the ILO/IMO Guidelines on the Medical Examination for Seafarers.
The purpose of this is to gather opinion as to which guidelines need change, which are worth some discussion and which remain relevant and appropriate today, so no change is needed. The survey can be accessed at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/AppendixE and you will need a copy of the Guidelines (download links above) available in order to complete it. Please give only one answer to each question and give as much information as you can so we have a clear picture of the reasons we need to review each guideline. The survey may take up to 45 minutes so please allow sufficient time. If you do need to leave the survey at any point you can return to it if you DO NOT CLOSE your browser window. If you close the window the information is lost.
Please do pass this information and survey on to colleagues within the industry who may be willing to give feedback. This can include seafarers and their organisations, employers, insurance companies, seafarer’s doctors, maritime authorities, TMAS providers etc. Everybody’s opinion is valuable and the more responses we have, the better we understand the need and rationale for review.
